O my heart stand still.
I have been on this quest for so long,
To find you a place to belong.
I searched in the dreams of an adolescent girl,
in her favorite books, in melodramatic term.
For you, I walked the awkward path, in the wake of womanhood,
I looked for answers in letters, in lyrics, in canvases of bursting magnitude.
I lived vicariously through tormented souls in dramatic cast,
Swayed by their tumultuous passion, their love, their lust.
But yet, reality stroke, love had no place for you.
O my heart, let life be, give it a rest
Ignore this gnawing emptiness.
Let us be free,
This world doesn’t have a place for you and me,
I want to get off of this meaningless ride,
Lets pick a time, sit on the side.
We will fade away, when time comes.
